The charger that came with it: Input 110-240V ~0.4A 50-60Hz
Output 5V 2A

My old e310 charger: Input 110-240V ~50-60Hz 0.5A
Output 5V 2.0A

The 4155 adapter appears to fit on the old e310 charger end.

OK, can I use the old charger cable with the HP adapter or will I fry my new 4155? Has anyone used something similar and survived?

Thanks.

Since the output is the same, you shouldn't have any problems. Since the output is the same, I'm guessing just the curcuitry within both AC adapters are different. I don't think you'll need to worry about frying your 4155.

Thank you for pushing me over the edge. I think this 4155 is great and didn't want to do anything to harm it. I've got it plug in and it is doing fine.

I've interchanged those chargers for months without any problems.
