I just got my Ipaq 2215 and am having problems installing Outlook 2002. I am running Windows 98 and I get error message that I have
C:\windows\system\asycfilt.dll v 2.40.4275.1 and need v 2.40.4277.1.

I have been to Microsofts website but the instructions they have to resolve this problem is for Windows XP. I am not able to locate the asycfilt on my Windows 98 disk.

Can anyone help me? Thanks!

When does this occur? During install?

Also, do you have Office or an existing Outlook already installed, and if so, what version is it?

I really have no idea if this is relative, but try loading the latest version of active sync.

Thanks for the response.

This happens during install.

I already have Outlook 2000 and am using the disk that came with my Ipaq to install Outlook 2002. I also installed Activesync 3.7 that came with the disk.

I really don't know what that file's for, but do you work in an office where you could ask a couple of friends if they've got the file on their PCs?

It's a Visual Basic runtime file.
Here's the MS KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301064

If you need the oainst executable mentioned in the KB article, here's a few places you can download it (466k).

Hope this straigtens it out. Have you considered upgrading to XP?
