Hey everyone,
I am looking for a phone to go with my 4355 and would like to know what pairs well. What phones are working well with the PPC, by that I mean connects easily, syncs without field conflicts or overlaps, good battery life, etc. I realize that everyone has a personal preference but at this point I am not sure where to start, there are many Bluetooth enabled phones. Is there a phone that will sync directly with the PPC without using the PC as an intermediary?
Thanks for the help,

TD

Well, I had that exact handheld paired with my Nokia 3650. Worked flawlessly. Never had any issues, easy setup, consistent, reliable connection.

Its a large phone though...and your preference on that may vary.

nokia and motorola are both good phones, but both have disadvantages.
nokia is too big and some people have bad experiences with motorola because of firmware bugs. plus the menu system in motorola is too slow.
i recommend you SE phones. if you like clamshell you can go for SE Z600.
or you like candy bar design you can go for t630. both have the same software. the only difference is the physical design. the BT implementation is good for both.

I'll tell ya what. I have a phone problem. I must upgrade my phone every 6 months. And for the last year and a half, i've been going with sony ericsson. As of now, no phone will look as pretty or work as flawless with your ipaq like the se z600. The reviews on the phone hasn't been that great for some reason. But trust a person who goes through phones like water. This is the best i've seen. Its offers every possiable feature in a cell phone you could want. Only draw back i can saw about the phone is it's camera isn't anything close to a 1.3mp. But....who caaares. Its a phone, i walk around with a dsc-t1 any way so that never bothered me. But you'll find this phone to be the best of its money and it will last you a long ways. Head down to your nearest import phone store and hold it....you'll fall in love. Its a beautiful thing at night when both you're ipaq and z600 light up. :)

I've had good luck with my Sony Ericsson T610. It pairs very easily and connects quickly to both the T-Mobile and AT&T networks.

As for the ability to synchronize without a PC, this setup will do that, but you also have to be able to access your Exchange server, which may depend upon your employers configuration.

If you want a very cheap, though admittedly hick phone that does everything you want, have a look at the good old Ericsson R520. I have used it with my Axim X5 without problems.

It's only $93 from Expansys.

i realy dont want to start a debate, but i find that z600 is a better device than v600, especially if you are functionality is what you are looking for.
just in the case if you want a good camera and screen, v600 could beat z600

well....i dont know about u..but im always looking for an argu..good debate. pound for pound the z600 beats the v600. Only thing the v600 has over the z600 is mp3 ring tones and perhaps a better camera. But i'll tell you this much, when you get your hands on the z600 you'll find your self using every one of its features. And if technology that makes u want to use it is not what we've all been looking for...then i'll be damned! The v600 still has the dull business feel to it. No matter what motorola does, their phones will always feel a bit boring in comparison to the rest. Solid phones never the less....but no umph!

Now i aways believe that you can't make an opinion on some hardware if you havn't used it so i'll leave the z600 v600 debate alone .

However in defence for the V600 it has a wonderful feel to it . Every bluetooth device i use works A1 all the time and yes the Mp3 ringtones are cool "HELLO MOTO !!!!"

the mp3 ringtones can be a cool feature but does this have anything to do with the functionality and durability?
come on guys, we are not kids anymore. functionality has to be what we are looking for, not cosmetic issues

How about the fact that the V600 is quadband, as opposed to the Z600's triband? ;) The V600 is also quite a bit thinner (0.2").

but the z600 weighs less and is much much more pretty :D . Pluuuuuus....the z600 supports all those "hidden" features. By hidden i mean....when i call some one else's cell, the phones tells me if they are on another call. Or it tells me when they place me on hold. AAAAAAND....the z600 also has the call cost, which shows you your data usage!!! Can't beat that!

check this out for a nice comparison....

quad band is definately not the an option i would want from a phone.
it only makes the phone heavier and bulky.

Do you have any cites to back that up? Consdering that this phone is less bulky (although slightly heavier)? Anyway, in the US, it's a critical feature for any network but T-Mobile.

I travelled quite a bit, so the quad band is a must for me. The metal body of V600 is simply marvelous. And uhm, it has Instant Messaging.
