NO SOUNDS COMING FROM UNIT

for the third time in 3 months no sounds and notifications are audible. this occured before and after ROM UPDATES. When I plug in headset, I can hear sounds. I've done hard and soft reset and redone updates.

I am ready to send unit back unless someone has another suggestion

Jiggle the headphone cord inside the jack and/or use a toothpick to make sure the jack isn't "stuck" in headphone mode. That's the most common cause of this kind of problem (although I guess it's also possible the earpiece has failed).

I did that already--it's very frustrating

I'd hate to have to send it back and wait for repair
