View Full Version : MSN Messenger trouble

I have an X5 with the WM2003 update, and I installed the MSN Messenger update for WM2003. Whenever I try to log in, though, I get the following error:

"Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the password is incorrect or the logon name does not exist. Enter the correct user name and password and try again. If the problem continues, contact MSN."

Thing is, the PW and UID work fine on any other access device I try them on -- home PC, work PC, kiosk, etc. Messenger also worked fine for me on PPC2K2, but since upgrading to 2K3 I have never gotten it to work. BTW, all other network functions are good, and I've tried reentering the ID and PW a zillion times, so there's no typo or anything. Even tried un-/reinstalling Messenger update.

Any ideas? Although I see a lot of threads in the forum on similar Messenger issues, I haven't found a solution that works...

The one thing I've heard is that a program out there conflicts with the update. If you've got some spare time, try backing up, hard resetting and installing the update fresh and see if it works without additional applications installed.
