The quality of the video should not be taken to reflect the quality of the final game."</i><br /><br />Wow, this looks amazing! The frame rate looks quite playable, and if this is only a "rough cut" of the game, I bet it will look even better after some polishing. There doesn't seem to be any firm information about who's doing this, but remember how Microsoft announced a few months back they were working on porting their gaming titles to the Pocket PC? It would seem that this is the first step toward that. Excellent - the Pocket PC platform needs more top-tier games!

Wow, sweet. What device is that on? Looks like 640x480, but it's hard to tell.

Pretty cool. This was a Microsoft game? Any idea which ones they might be porting over?

To WM2003SE, I hope...

it looks like an ipaq 2215.

I had heard that it will be for wm2005, and run on direct x

Definately a 2215. The game must support a landscape mode, so it probably is just running the 2003 OS. It looked like the operator was tilting the device to drive - was he/she using one of those sweet tilting thingies, or did they just "lean" like an old school Nintendo gamer?

Careful guys--over at PocketGamer.org, almost everybody is wary that this video could be a forgery. It would be really easy to make a 320x240 video of the game playing on a PC, and then slap it into Windows Media Player for kicks. We don't know anything about the source of the video, after all.

I think you're right, could be a video playing from a pc game. When the car crashes, he doesn't budge, like he knew it was going to happen. He also hides his right thumb where it would be controlling the position of the car. I bet it's fake. Not bad, not bad at all.

How is this person controlling the game? Steering wise anyway, from what I know, pocket pc directional pads are either all one way, or all the other, and this video clearly shows smooth movement for extended periods of time, yet sudden movement at other points. I'm all for mustangs, but this just doesn't seem right, unless the test device has a range on the d-pad.

as long as they don't want $30 8O for this stuff, $12 or less is much better for PPC software, Textmaker and Planmaker have a vaild excuse, you're getting nearly the full PC version with it, plus sometimes the PC version is even included.

If the game actually looks this good and plays that well, you can forget about $12.
This is easily a $30 game (and frankly if it's anywhere near as fun as the xbox one, I'd probably pay it). This is an established game from an established developer. Now, take a look at where top tier GBA games are priced...$24 to $34. And graphically and mechanically this is well beyond a GBA (if it's real  ).
This would actually be the first action game that looks good enough for me to play on the ppc (I personally feel strategy games fit the platform much better at this time).

Hmm - my personal suspicion is that the video is fake, but I posted it for the benefit of other people to let them decide.

I mean, look on the bright side: even if this video is fake we do know that Midtown Madness is coming to the Pocket PC anyway.

I've been tying to get the beta out of the guy for confirmation purposes, but he hasn't responded since.

David Prahl: Why does it need to be 2003 because it's in landscape mode?

David Prahl: Why does it need to be 2003 because it's in landscape mode?

I think what I mean to say is that the 2215 is running the 2003 OS, because 2003 Second Edition (which has native landscape support) is not yet available for HP's devices. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Most likely the game supports landscape mode play already, I was just making a remark about the OS.

I hope it's real. Still, if it's not, something like this should be along soon enough. 8)
