Seen any interesting ads lately? No? Try funny! I recently paid <a href="http://www.old-computers.com">Old-Computers.com</a> a visit and came across their <a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp">"Stupid Scan"</a> page which brings forward many vivid memories from the 70s and 80s. How about this portable PC, the <a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=32">"DAI PORTABLE SYSTEM"</a>?<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/funny01.jpg" /><br /><br />My other five favorite scans are:<br /><a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=3">"GOLITE FAMILY"</a> Mean.<br /><a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=37">"LEAVE ME SOME ROOM!"</a> How politically incorrect can an ad be?<br /><a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=9">"PLAY SOCCER ON YOUR TV"</a> Flying as Henrik Larsson...<br /><a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=29">"I JUST COME BACK FROM JOGGING"</a> Wig!?<br /><a href="http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=23">"ATARI AEROBICS"</a> Watch that disc drive!<br /><br />Also, don't miss the "Kitchen Computer" on the first page! "The Kitchen Computer was obviously geared towards housewives who loved to cook. However any housewives who wanted one of these had to shell out A LOT of green, considering the Kitchen Computer sold for $10,600 when it was first introduced (You could buy about four new cars for that much money in 1965!). This price tag included the built-in recipes, and also included a cookbook and an apron!"<br /><br />I wonder which current ads will make it into tomorrow's "Stupid Scan" list? Any suggestions?

Looks like their site is having some issues - I'm getting lots of errors on those links.

Yeah Old-Computers.com is a Cool site. I browse around there a lot on the site but I never though of going back to '65. I thought I was old with my Timex Sinclair with a whopping 2k of ram. I didn't have a cassette player so I hung a plug off my car cassette player. The only problem with that was that I either had to go out to the car or figure a way to get the car in the basement. I compromised and brought an old car battery in the basement and hooked up a charger to it. I should have asked Honeywell what to do.

As far as the Kitchen Computer is concerned I guess they had to throw the apron in to make the sale - smart idea! Honeywell really knows how to market stuff. When you give away something for free people will buy anything  (well almost anything).

Man, I have an old Kalle Anka (Donald Duck magazine in Swedish) lying around from the start of the 90's where I recently saw an ad for Commodore C64! It was a girl and a boy supposedly "playing" a surfer-game on a C64 -- which only was a pasted in picture of a guy surfing...

Too bad that I don't have a scanner... :(

UPDATE: not like this one (http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=44), however...
