Help on mind-mapping software

Will anybody give me some suggestion on which program to use for idea-gathering?

Like, some sort of mind-mapping tools?
I've try "Pocket Mindmap"
But $42US is ridiculously over priced! (Its very good tho.... but I just cant spend that much as of now)

So, is there alternative? Freeware would be best, but I wouldnt mind to spend a little for a solid one :mrgreen:

ListPro at http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.htm does outlining very nicely at $19.95. You can drag and drop items after they're entered; a critical operation when I'm using the PPC for thinking and planning.

I've looked into mind mapping software for the PPC a while back. The only alternative to Pocket Mindmap that I'm aware of is MindManager X5 (http://www.mindjet.com/us/products/mindmanager_x5mobile/mmx5mobile.php) and the price is $49. The main advantage it has over Pocket Mindmap is that there is a desktop version as well. From reviews that I've read, Pocket Mindmap is more fully featured than MindManager.

If you find alternatives to these two, please share the info.

I ran across pocketNow's review of Inside Mind's MindMap (http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=410). It costs $9.95 but doesn't provide a tree view. Maybe it will suit your needs.

Hmm.. that "Inside Mind's Mindmap" software looks simular to this Noterrific (http://www.sitosis.com/~rudis/) software I am currently using.

Noterrific does very well compare to other Note-tree style programs, it also have a small window at the bottom for quick reading/editing. Plus note maneuvering is a breeze with those handy button at the bottom.
Noterrific also has a handful of icon to choose from too...

But it open quite slow, I guess thats what you get for a freeware :?
