It was a very pleasant Today plug-in which allowed access to your PIM appointments and tasks on the Today screen - a really nice feature for those of us who use their PIMs extensively. I don’t mean just showing your next appointment - the native Pocket Outlook and Today screen does that - but up to 30 days of your appointments and tasks, on separate, scrollable tabs. Very handy, I thought. It’s barely been two months since then, and now a newer, more powerful version has been released - PocketBreeze 4.0. The program has become more than a simple Today screen plug-in."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20040611-GeekzonePocketBreeze.jpg" /><br /><br />I was confused by <a href="http://www.sbsh.net/">SBSH's</a> name change initially (what's a PocketBreeze, anyway? ;)), so this review was useful to me. There's a lot of screenshots in the article, which may help you decide if PocketBreeze is right for you.

I think this looks great, but I don't understand why i would want to manage my calendar from the Today screen instead of just pulling up Pocket Informant or AgendaFusion - can someone help me understand this?

PocketBreezes size can be set by the user to take up as little or as much space as you like. Makes for quick and easy viewing of all your data that is highly configurable.

If the only today plugins you use are calendar and Tasks, this will replace them nicely.

I know I want to turn on my PPC and immediately see any tasks and/or appointments due in the near future.

I found your post on this program useful for another reason. I visited the SBSH site to glance through other programs they had available and found a derivative of the one featured on your site called "SnapView".

This little program only features today's and tommorrow's appointments/tasks, but with a twist: you can map the program to a hardware button to activate it, view anything PIM related to today and tommorrow, and then shut the PDA down by releasing the hardware button, all without turning the unit on and then having to turn it off again. Since my Ipaq is in a custom case that makes reaching the power button difficult without utilizing the stylus, it's a big timesaver and a godsend for me.

So, if you're interested in saving manual steps to view short term PIM info, check out SPSH's homepage and find SnapView. I sure was glad I did.

I turn my Pocket PC on about 20 times a day, and usually it is to surf the net or look up some information. It does not always occur to me to check my appointments and tasks, but there they all are on the screen. One really cool feature of PocketBreeze is the bell icon flashes when a birthday or anniversary is occurring today. Very cool way to remind me to send out that email or make that phone call.

Can anyone recommend a good app that creates multiple Today screens? I have too many plugins to allow them to fit on one screen without scrolling, so I end up disabling the lesser-used plugins.

I already know about M-Tux but iirc there's at least one or two others like it out there.

Hi ctmagnus:

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for (not sure there is such a software?) but why not check out the nifty little utility "iLauncher" and, while you are there do try out "PocketBreeze" as this set up will give you lots and lots of control directly from your Today Screen and you will hopefully find this is everything you need.

I already have a tabbed launcher utility in the form of Spb Pocket Plus 2.0, but thanks anyways!
