Hello,

I am in the process of refurbushing my Compaq 3635 which has been lying unused for a while.

I would like to know if there is any software for the following:

1)Manage Contacts, To Do List, Calendar, Appointments.

I would like to type in the information on my desktop and then sync the information to the program on the PDA.

Unfortunately, typing the information directly into the PDA has some limitations for me.

2) Manage basic expenses. Basically I would like to keep track of my account balances (checkings/savings) in about 4 bank accounts, and also keep a track of bills paid, upcoming expenses.

I do NOT need to track stocks, investments. Once again, a program which I can enter the information on my desktop and then sync it to the PDA would be more helpful.

3) A good alarm/clock software

4) A good battery management software

Thats all I can think of for now.

Thanks for your help

RJ

1) You can just use the built in Pocket Outlook already on your PPC. And since you want to type it on your computer, you can use MS Outlook (that is on your CD that came with your Compaq) and enter the information on you desktop computer, and have it sync.

2) As for expenses, you can use Microsoft Money 2004 for Pocket PC (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/money.mspx). You can have that sync with Microsoft Money 2004 (http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.asp) on your desktop.

3) For a good alarm clock, you can use WolfClock (http://www.freewareppc.com/clock/wolfclock.shtml).

4) There are many Battery Managment Programs Here are a few:
-Battery Bar (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/batterybar.shtml)
-Pocket Innovation System Monitor (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/pocketinnovationsystemmonitor.shtml)
-Power Check (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/powercheck.shtml)

All software I have suggested is free, because I always like to look for free programs instead of just jumping in and buying software. :D

There are lots of software available for what you want... but here are my suggestions...

1) For a PIM I have always tried several... and have always gone back to Agenda Fusion...

2) I have not found a better finanicial software package than Cash Organizer...

3) Alarm clocks... a tough one... but I found that Wolf Clock is the first one that has fired on every alarm that I have set... If you are looking for something a little prettier... you can look at Spb Time...

4) For battery management... I like Sprites PocketMon.... it comes with Sprite Backup a utility that you should get anyway.

If there is one application you should get it would be Sprite's backup...
