<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.bitsinside.com' target='_blank'>http://www.bitsinside.com</a><br /><br /></div>Axel Wolf from BitsInside contacted us about some new freeware applications for the Pocket PC 2002 and 2003. Not one, not two, but three new applications are available, including: a sophisticated <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com/expenses.php">expense tracker</a> (shown below), <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com/contacts.php">contacts management</a> software and <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com/tracker.php">time billing software</a>. Also previously available are a <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com/regedit.php">registry editor</a> and a network enabled <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com/explorer.php">filemanager / explorer</a>.<br /><br /> <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/image004.gif" /><br /><br />All programs can be downloaded free of charge for non commercial use. Download links and keycodes to unlock the programs are supplied at the <a href="http://www.bitsinside.com"> BitsInside website</a>.<br /><br />The software is well worth a look. Free is good, we like free.

Their product page says:
"Fully functional 7 day trial version available"

So it doesn't look to be free as in freeware but as in free download and limited free trial. :?:

If you take a look on the top right side of each apps page you will notice a user name/code to be input.

I tried to install with no luck. I keep getting an error message. Has anyone else tried to install?

Setup application gives error. I just installed the cab file from the binary folder and that worked fine.

Sending the .cab file from the binaries/arm directory to your PPC works too.

I kinda like it [Explorer] for changing file extensions of files my ppc thinks it can't read. Plus, :!: the key works fine.

The mail we got about this from Axel said it was freeware, and that's what it looks like to me at the website.

Hello,

as stated on our website all applications are free to use for non-commercial purposes. The user / key combination will not expire.

The missing file can be found in the download section of our website. however, as many of you already found out, installation can also be performed by simply double-clicking the cab file on your PPC.

Regards, Axel Wolf

Hi,

I installed the app on my e805 using the .CAB method. I ran into a snag, however in trying to place the XDll.dll file in the "System" folder. Unless my machine is unique it appears that WM2003-SE does not have a "System" folder. Leaving it in the Windows folder (where all the other dlls are) doesn't work as the macro in Excel doesn't recognize it as present. Any fix?

It seems like a very nice app, and importing from a CSV is relatively simple. One issue that I noticed, however is that the program does not separate the currency from the amount (e.g. the entry appears as USD200 rather than USD;200.) This means Excel treats the cells as text and various arithmetic functions (totals, pivot tables etc.) cannot be performed. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.
