no wifi? I heard that the wifi model comes later, but $500 should have dual wireless.

I got my x30 today!

My PDA decision has been an intense, ongoing internal debate, spanning the last 2 months. After finally deciding on the Asus A716, I changed my mind yet again, and firmly decided on the iPaq h4350, then revised that to an even firmer decision on the h4150 with slim keyboard ordered later. Then I slept on it yet again, re-read all those reviews, and definitely decided on the Asus A716. There. done deal. Love it. Superior sound and great benchmarks and good battery life did it. To heck with slightly bigger size. Had it in my cart at a Canadian site, and was waiting for my slow dialup page load, and I went back to reviews, and saw again the Hx4700, and closed the shopping cart page. Definitely worth the wait, the hx4700 looks awesome. (Oooh...VGA) -Since this is a very important decision, I can wait a few more days...weeks...(argh...)

But wait. the Asus A730 is just incredible, and That is definitely the one I want. YES. So, I went to pre-order it at ProPortable....<sigh>

Check out doesn't seem to support Canadian addresses. I emailed them. but I am afraid it might not be possible... I don't wait very well, and this is killing me. I have read pretty much every review on every site/forum online on the latest and greatest pdas. I dream about them. I just WANT mine already. Any ideas on Asus A730 release date, other than the Aug 1st possibility mentioned at ProPortable?

And, any referrals for Canadian suppliers? The ones I have dealt with don't seem to have a clue.

Thanks for reading my desperate frustrated rant. I have enjoyed lurking and reading for the last few weeks :)

Cheers from PEI 8O

And advice on a choice would be welcome...a couple firm statements of "Go ahead and order the A716" would send me back to the shopping cart in a flash

Nope I totally agree with you.. the Asus A730 with the wifi and the additional ram is the device I have been looking at for months now, ever since it was originally announced.

For a Canadian distributor I would send a message to Handheld Canada... they are in Victoria, BC... They do not have any Asus products in their current line of products... but it does not mean they don't have access to them.

I would also check any Canadian retailer that carries Asus parts... motherboards etc... they should be able to get it for you... or at least maybe point you in the right direction. I know the big supplier here for electronic goods is Ingram Micro...
