Anyone know of a good (freeware) program (or even a plugin) that'll let you remotely control winamp on a desktop from your PocketPC?

if you find one give me a hollar, right now I just use mediaplayer and the controls built into my wireless keyboard :( you might make use of winamp.com's plugin section, there just might be one

I know this isn't what you're after, but it is cool. If you have a Sony Ericsson phone and a Bluetooth adapter for your PC, try PC Control from www.christersson.org which turns your phone into a remote control.

there's also float's mobile agent (http://fma.sourceforge.net/), as another option.

:duh: I should've thought of this before...

PocketPC VNCViewer Client (http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html)

Just install a VNC server on the desktop (I recommend this one (http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/)) and you're good to go, if you don't mind the occasional slight laginess on the Pocket PC end.

I tried using that client with my tightvnc server and it wouldn't connect.

I know you're looking for freeware, but I have never seen a free app that does that. The only program I know of that can control Winamp is RemoteAmp, (http://www.smashcasi.com/) but that will cost you $20. However I use it all the time and love it, for me it was well worth the money.

I have never tried it, but Vinyl has recently been released as freeware and I think it can do what you want.
