I was starting to go a little crazy, having to use pen and paper for notes and appointments. My Axim X30, Intel 624MHz left Dell 2 hours ago and should be arriving at my home tommorow. I was not sure how I was going to function until the 16th of June, but the Pocketpc gods smiled on my and dell is shipping 2 weeks ahead of there guestimate!

When they send you the shipping notification, note what they are actually shipping. I got all excited to and am now the proud owner of a cradle with nothing to put in it. :D

Yea, my beautiful but worthless (for now) cradle arrived today as well. However I just got notification from Dell and UPS that my X30 624 arrives tomorrow. I think they've had a lot of them ready. I just ordered it 5 days ago for $309 and within one week it will be here!

You got it for 309??? I called those bastards and they told me they never offered it for 309. What day did you order it exactly?

I got that deal through xpbargains.com. There was a link to their small business division that automatically gave a $40 discount. I ordered it immediately.

According to the email and web site, the only thing they shipped seprately was the Atari emulator sd card that was a free promo. Our front desk person singed for it an hour ago, so I will know for sure in about 2.5 hours!

I ordered it Saturday May 22 and it arrived Wed the June 2, so about a week and 1/2. 2 weeks ahead of their estimate. I have to say I am very happy with it. The speed is most impresive

Did you get any accessories w/ it?

Not yet. I am deciding weather I should buy there car travel charger, or just invest in an inverted since I have owned so many diffrent brands of ppc's. I will order a spare battery. With a 624 processor and wifi and bluetooth it is a bit of a battery hog

It took about one week from ordering to arrive. I got it through Dell's small business edition. That 's how I got it for $309.

How do you like the size? The iPaq 4355 is just about .75 inches longer, and about the same thickness, I think. I'm tempted to go that route since it has a better battery and suposedly will be upgradable to SE some day (though there have been surprisingly few updates for this device since it was introduced).
I dunno... I'm sure I'm going to have buyer's remorse with either device I get. The Dell doesn't have the built-in keyboard, but it makes up for that in speed. The 4355 is bigger and probably less convenient, but better battery life.
I'd be curious to hear how you like the X30 after using it for a few days. Are enough of the known bugs fixed in SE (e.g. 1st alarm of the day doesn't fire, etc.) that it's worth going with the X30 since it already has SE vs. hoping the 4355 will be upgraded...
choices...
Anyway, congratulations again on your purchase. Enjoy the speed!

My 4155 was so nice and small. I don't love the extra size, but it is not a huge deal either. I never checked the the actual weight but it does "feel" ligther then the 4155

What do you think of the AXIM's screen compared to the HP?

I have not had long to play with this machine, but so far I am pretty impressed.

Do you have any problems with the screen's sensitivity? I mean, do you have to tap/hold harder around the edges, or is it evenly sensitive all around? This has been one of the most widespread problems I read about on other forums about this handheld.

I have not noticed any screen sensitivity issues.

The only emulator I have played with was the atari one that came with the x30. I have not seen a button lagged but can't say I played more then a few times. Have there been reports on lags and emulators with the x30 or is this supposition based on older dell models? I would be surprised that a pocketpc with the fastest processor on the market would have any lag issues when compared to other ppc’s
