Technically, HP does (or did) have a Pocket PC Phone -- the Jornada 928 (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=HP_928).

If you're asking why HP doesn't have an iPAQ Pocket PC Phone or a Pocket PC Phone in the U.S., I assume it's because they didn't believe there was a big enough market for them.

P.S. It's best to put your question in the body of your post, not just the subject. See Pony's Posting Proverbs (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11413) to find out why.

Also, if the rumours are true, they soon will. The rumoured iPAQ 6300 will be a phone edition device (quad-band GSM) with WiFi and Bluetooth built in.

Nope. There was supposedly going to be a model that did (the 5600, I think), which is why there's a SIM card slot in them, but the 5450 was a Pocket PC 2002 device, while the 5550 runs plain old Windows Mobile 2003.

because i suppose that there are people who find doesnt find phone edition a good idea.
i always say that a normal ppc coupled with a BT enabled phone is a better solution
