I'm not much into poetry, but this one so affected me that I saved it since it's original post date.

"Sadness is being the last post of the work day.
Where have all my fast friend gone?
Alas! My taskbar tells me the day is done.
My newsgroup brethren have long since departed...
Nevermind the redness in my eyes as I slowly select 'Shutdown?'"

how about this: i'll credit your name and if anyone posts this poem somewhere else i'll ask to credit my name, and the poem goes on and on like this?

I didn't write it, I just re-typed it from my printout

the only poets I have ever been able to enjoy/relate to deeply have been charles bukowski and nick drake. My guess is that genious turns a brain melancholic. anyways, possibly one of my favorite peices of literature...

Way to blue
Nick Drake

Don't you have a word to show what may be done
Have you never heard a way to find the sun
Tell me all that you may know
Show me what you have to show
Won't you come and say
If you know the way to blue?

Have you seen the land living by the breeze
Can you understand a light among the trees
Tell me all that you may know
Show me what you have to show
Tell us all today
If you know the way to blue?

Look through time and find your rhyme
Tell us what you find
We will wait at your gate
Hoping like the blind.

Can you now recall all that you have known?
Will you never fall
When the light has flown?
Tell me all that you may know
Show me what you have to show
Won't you come and say
If you know the way to blue?
