Thank you for reading this.

Did you experienced any problems in synchronising Calendar events and Contacts with Outlook 2003?

I have a 4150 ipaq and is the 3rd device that I am testing and the behaviour is the same.

Device is working wonderful until I synchronize Outlook 2003 to put my appointments on it. In that moment Calendar on ipaq can not be accessed at all and if I "soft" reset the ipaq it freezes on the reboot screen with the system loading progress bar full.

Please, if you have positive experience with ipaq 4150/4155 with Windows Mobile 2003 and Outlook 2002 that can be synchonized with desktop/laptop computer running Outlook 2003, let me kow.

I tested 3 ipaq 4150 devices and the result is the same.

TIA,

Florin

I have been using Outlook 2003 since it came out and I have never had problems....have you set Active Sync to sync with Outlook?

if you are using cradle it seems that you have to check Active stink settings which are simple enough

Active Sync is setuped ok is 3.7.1

Further, I have tested and if I synchronise only the Contacts without Calendar, device works fine. If after that I add on my synchronization the Calendar, the behaviour gets back. And after that only Hard reset and retore lets me access the device properely.

In these conditions, 4150 is unuseble. I am sure now that desktop Outlook 2003 has some compatibility problems with WM2003 Premium w/Outlook 2002 Ipaq 4150 device.

What is curious is that I have accesed HP forums and other similar places (5-6 forums) and I was not able to find reports on the same behaviour...

What do you think about this?

Reinstall ActiveSync but make sure you download the lastest version from Microsoft first even if it appears you already do. Now on your first sync only select calendar and deselect the others and see how you get on with synchronisation. I would hard reset your Pocket PC before doing this since you don't have it properly set up yet anyway.

Thank you, I'll try this too and get back with the result.

You might also try running the detect and repair in Outlook. It may be a corrupt calendar entry that is hosing you. I also have been using Office 2003, including Outlook 2003, with my 4155 and 2215 since Beta days. Have a regular retail version of it now and no problems. If you've tried this with several PPCs, I'd be looking at the common item, the desktop.

Yesterday another colegue of mine that independentely tested the same configuration: nx7000/WindowsXP/Office2003 with ipaq 4150/WM2003Premium/outlook2002 got the same result

We both are dissapointed...
