I have a 4150/55 and just wondering. On my Wifi router instructions it says you should keep at least 20 cm away from the anteners or the recumended RF radiation exposia could be exceeded. Now with the iPAQ you are in contact with the divice at all times. Im a bit worried now.

I do notice my ipaq getting a little warm at the top of the unit!

Access Points put out a lot more power than handhelds do...

How much less are we talking about - half? 2/3s?

I am currently also using a IPAQ h4150 and I have been using the Wi-Fi almost everyday, and I doesn't experience any discomfort on our body.

I think the manufacturer must have make the device safe enough for eveyone to use or else the Quality & Safetly Check would not pass.
Common access-points routers give out more RF radiation since it uses much more power than a pocket pc handheld.

I think you need not worry about it.

You shouldn't worry about it, my wifi setup with six 15db gain antennas has a minimum safe distance of 1/2 ft. My effective output power is 2 watts erp, the power from an access point is around 100mw/20 dbm. The power from a pda is much less than that so you will be fine. To really put it into perspective, the output of cell phones is 600mw.

there are industry standarts and some wise people do experiments about radiation, and a big company like HP must heve obey the limitations

Big companies have disobeyed limitations before...

But in any case, isn't that what getting FCC clearance is for?

they say its safe to wear cellular phones but i never carry my mobile in my skirt or jacket pocket, my pants is the longest distance to carry my mobile from my head and my heart.

The safest area to carry your mobile phone is your shirt or jacket pocket. The heart is the organ least afftect by RF radiation. The worst place to keep it is in your trouser pocket - vital organs gallour there!
