.exe files are files for your desktop. CAB files are for your pocketpc. EXE files are basically like trying to open an .avi file with WMP on your pocket pc. You'd have to download a seperate CAB installer, or sometimes I think if you look in your temp folder, or the folder that the program installs to on your comptuer (before installing on your pocketpc), you can find the CAB file there. But no, there is no program to convert exe to cab..

there has probably a misunderstanding here.
firstly both pocketpc and desktop has exe files.
secondly there should be programs that pack exe files to cab.
but kuwait if you are asking of converting a win32 exe file to work in pocketpc there is no way to do this
and if you want to pack an exe file that has been compiled to work on pocketpc, why would you want to convert to a cab file?

What i want is to convert EXE files that are compiled to work on PPC into CAB files so that i can add the to the EXT.ROM in my PPC .
Also , i can use CAB files to store them on my SD card so that i can reinstall my important programs after hard restting my PPC.

A lot of times the cab files are actually compiled into the executables... in some cases you can use a compression program to actually extract the cab...

to have quick access to installing/reinstalling programs.
I know, for me, I keep a lot of CABS in my file store, for programs such as MVP player, a paint program, and a few other programs that I dont use a lot, so I dont want them to take up space in my RAM, but when I do need the programs, I can just copy the cab and install it, use the program, and uninstall it. Saves space, and nice as backup..

I am not questioning those that wish to have cab files... it is a great way to keep executables backed up and available to you on your Storage Cards... In the case you might be away from you computer... (ie travelling) you can always reload a corrupted application...
I see the advantages of keeping cabs available...

How else would you be able to install a program (using a clean installer) on a Pocket PC without access to an ActiveSync'able desktop?

I think what kuwait maybe trying to do is package his executables into a CAB file so the will automatically re-install after hardreset from his XDA-II's extended rom region.
If so kuwait you might want to look at the docs on MSDN on cabwiz.exe at :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wcesetup/html/_wcesdk_Using_CAB_Wizard_to_Create_a_cab_File.asp
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dv_evtuv/html/etlrfcabwizexe.asp
This tool will allow you to package your exe files in a cab file.

if the program is only a single exe file which will run when you just copy to your device, this wont be a problem at all.
but if we are talking about installer exe, then i dont think that exe to cab conversion wont do the trick.

One idea would be to extract the CAB from the desktop EXE. That CAB may have not only the files, but the registry settings to be applied.
