View Full Version : Real-time Outlook Scheduling?

I'm looking for a program or solution that would allow me to use a PPC equipped w/ a wireless connection to schedule appointments in an existing Outlook calendar. Currently we simply use a terminal connected to the network but would rather use a more private (no prying eyes solution) format such as a PPC. Obviously it is easy enough to have the handheld simply use the calendar feature and do a sync w/ the server but I'm worried that it could run into troubles when multiple people are attempting to edit the calendar or if and when they forget to sync. Obviously this could lead to scheduling conflicts. What would be great is a program that can actually view and edit the calendar realtime over an 802.11b network. I thought of using terminal services but it would be a large pain to view the entire screen on a handheld (unless ofcourse using a fancy VGA PPC... anybody have any experience/comments on this?). Anybody know of a program that can do anything like this? Thanks for any replies/submissions!

Yeah, maybe look into Windows Mobile Server (think that's the name) with an Exchange Server. Those two together might work.

I am aware of those solutions but fear that sync'ing would be somewhat dangerous in the hands of employees and really need something that would allow instantaneous changes just like using a full computer accessing the calendar from the network
