Hello Everyone,
Is it possible to make my H4150 PocketPC into a wireless headphone?
What I want is to watch movies etc on my Desktop PC, but I want to stream the audio wirelessly (bluetooth/wireless) to my PocketPC so in effect I end up with a sorta wireless headphone.
It would be great for late night movie watching without relying on wired headphones with short cords!! :-((

I'm pretty sure the 4150 does not act as a headset, so this is not going to work. :(

I believe I've seen devices that stream audio over bluetooth, and I'd be fairly suprised if similar devices didn't exist with wi-fi, however, the problem your going to run into is recieving the stream. I doubt there is any PPC software out there that would use that stream and play teh music. So unless you're a pretty talented PPC developer, I'd say you're out of luck unfortunately. What you need is some software similar to what is on the front page right now. Maybe you could try contacting that developer and see if they could help you out. What software are you using to watch movies (Winamp, DivX Player, WinDVD, etc.)?

Surely this is a perfect application for windows media encoder (free download), using bluetooth networking and windows media player on your pocketpc to recieve the stream. You can stream audio and video from your pc to your pocketpc, and its quite easy to set up. If you just stream audio, the bandwidth should be sufficient for reasonable quality.
Start here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/WM8/encoding.aspx) and if you use it in combination with a number of utilities that can control windows media player over a network, you could even control your movie remotely.
Good luck, and let us known how you get on.

Hello Everyone.
Thanks for the replies. sounds like I have to either forget about this or try a combo solution.
Would have been good if I could make something like Windows Media Player play a file on the desktop but also stream just the audio over :-)). Almost like a poor man's wireless headphone/speaker system ;-))
