Hi all,
I have just got a Sony Bluetooth digi camera DSC-FX77 that supports the Bluetooth BIP protocol.
I very wrongly assumed that my flashy expensive HP5550 would also support the BIP protocol, but it seems to support every Bluetooth protocol but that one
Is there anything that I can do about it? Like software I can download for the 5550 that would make it accept BIP transfers?
Many Thanks,
Fluke

First, what is "BIP"? (OK, I just used :google: to find out that it's Basic Imaging Profille. Defining uncommon acronyms is generally a good idea if you want help....)

Second, I don't know of any way to upgrade your Bluetooth stack unless HP or WIDCOMM release a new version.

Part of the problem is that Sony singlehandedly decided to start using BIP, in a semi-proprietary maneuver. Most every other device I know of doesn't support it, including most, if not all Pocket PCs. :( You can try some Google searches, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is no option at this point.

Thanks Guys.
I can't believe I have potentially thrown away good money for a Bluetooth camera, that will not work with any other Bluetooth device I have.
Why don't things do what they say on the tin?
I will me more careful in future...

Are there any USB dongles out there that do support BIP Bluetooth does anyone know?
