ok i'm brand new to scummVM and was hoping for a little "where to start" help. I downloaded and installed the emulator and beneath the steel sky... got it all working ok but was now wondering where to get a GOOD game? monkey island? how do i get games? i saw on the lucas arts website you can still buy these classics for like 15 bucks but then how would i get it in a format scummVM would like?

what are the great games for it? i love these types of games and didn't play many of the originals so i'm not sure where to start! thanks...

ps one other question i have is how do you know which buttons you will need to map? in beneath the steel sky i pretty much can't do anything becuase the only button i mapped was the right click...

You can visit this (http://www.scummvm.org/documentation.php?view=datafiles) webpage to find out what files you ONLY need to copy off of the cd.

Also, this (http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility.php) webpage has a list of games compatible (shows completion for each game) with ScummVM.

Hope that answered your question 8)

They're really all good. ;) I'm a big fan of the SCUMM style. I'm in the middle of Gilbert Goodmate for PPC at the moment. Not *quite* as good as Monkey Island (which it's modeled a bit after), but still good nonetheless.

ok i've found day of the tentacle on ebay but mostly just the MAC version - then one guy says scummVM doesn't care if the original version was mac... is that true? just want to make sure before i plop down my hard earned. THANKS!

ps i don't have access to ANY mac if i need to do anything... i'm not trying to sound dumb about macs but essentially i'll want to put the mac version CD into my PC computer and copy the files onto my PPC... cool?

I recommend:

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Sam & Max: Hit the Road
Monkey Island 1 and 2
Day of the Tentacle

If you have more memory you can also get Full Throttle and The Dig
