GoodLink for Pocket PC Phone Edition Released

Funnily enough, Good Technology have just announced a version of GoodLink that works on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Software for Pocket PC Phone Edition. What is Goodlink you ask?<br /><br />"GoodLink, which is part of the Good System, is a standards-based wireless messaging and corporate data access system that provides mobile field forces with a two-way wirelessly synchronized connection to Microsoft Exchange Server (enterprise email, contacts, calendar, notes and tasks) and other critical applications like CRM, ERP and SCM. GoodLink's robust architecture is FIPS certified and incorporates AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) end-to-end encryption of all email, data and attachments in Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, HTML, PDF and RTF file formats. GoodLink includes synchronizing server software, security and application software for managing multiple networks and a variety of devices including the Good(TM) G100, the Treo 600 (Palm OS) and Windows Mobile(TM)-based Pocket PC devices." Does anyone know how much this costs? The site says "contact us" for ordering information, so that makes me think it's either very expensive, or only available in corporate packages. :?

It is $330 per User per Year for the Goodlink software and an additional fee which varies depending on your wireless carier (AT&T or Sprint).

It's enterprise software and requires use of a server so you can't expect it to be cheap.

Good is expensive, but then so is its competition. It as the blackberry, is targeted to corporate users. so you really need Exchange mail (Lotus Notes may also be supported, i know it is for the blackberry). Then you have the buy the good link server software, and then each user, From the pricing i have seen it is about $330/ user per year on top of the server software. We are looking at deploying Good for our PPC and are having some trouble getting more info out of Good. they are for the most part responsive, but it seems they have been busy in the last few days. we were told of ppc support yesterday, we have been working with their account reps for a wile, they wanted us to test it on the treo600 but we declined, as deploying a totally new handheld on top of this is expensive. I hope to have a working version of Good on my PPC phone within the next week, if i can swing it, i will try to write up a short informal review.

I have done quite a bit is research on Good and blackberry (i have one) in the past year. if you as an individual want to deploy good, it is possible without going through a lot of expense. but it will cost you something. You would need to set up an exchange account at a ASP provider, you can get a single mailbox for +/- $20.00/mo and then buy a Good license for $330 or so a year. The two companies that come to mind are Mailstreet.com and utopiasystems.com.

Another option, for those that don't have the resources to support or purchase this software is to lease service from a company like LanLogic (http://www.lanlogic.net/). About $20 for the Exchange account and the BES/Good service.

We are evaluating products from JP Mobile and Notify Link. We are a GroupWise shop so we are limited in our options but they also offer solutions for Notes and Exchange. Both solutions are device agnostic, support multiple carriers (and 802.11) and are less expensive.

We've had a one of these in our office for a couple of months now as a trial. Very, very, very neat. I haven't been able to get it assigned to me to actually get to know, so I've only handled it for about 10 minutes with someone else's data on it. Seems to be a great device. I'll see if I can find out more and provide an update.

Anyone else acutally used GoodLink?

Our Company has been using Goodlink for about 15 months.....simply awesome.

We have some folks who use the Mobitex network....some who use Cingular GSM and Some who use Sprint.

Works great...almost zero down time in over a year. Easy to manage.

Couldnt live with out it now.....
