:?: :?: I have looked for many hours for a solution and the most recent topic I found dealing with this issue was from 2002. I am using ActiveSync 3.7.1 and Outlook 2003 (my device is iPaq 2215). When I delete an e-mail from my device, then sync, it deletes the e-mail from my Inbox on the PC. Is there anyway to prevent this? :?: :?:

That's why it's called "synchronization". If you want to keep the E-mail, don't delete it from your Pocket PC.

Seriously, I don't use Outlook for E-mail, but I have used POP3 accounts on my Pocket PC. I found that if I got E-mail on my Pocket PC, it stayed on my server (which made sense, of course). When I retrieved the E-mail from my laptop, the next time I checked E-mail, the mail disappeared from my Pocket PC's Inbox (which again makes sense).

However, if I copied the E-mail from the Inbox to another folder I created (called Saved in my case), the E-mail stayed on my Pocket PC until I chose to delete it.

Maybe a similar trick would work for you. Try copying the E-mail from your Outlook Inbox to another folder, deleting the E-mail from the Pocket PC Inbox, emptying the Deleted Items folder, then synchronizing and see if it is kept in the folder in Outlook.

Alternatively, try copying the E-mail in the Pocket PC Inbox to another folder, synchronize and see if the E-mail stays in the Outlook Inbox. If it does, delete the E-mail from the folder, empty the Deleted Items folder, then synchronize again. If the E-mail doesn't get deleted from Outlook, you're home free.

Be sure to let us know if one or both of those works.

Using outlook the only folder synchronized is the inbox. If you want to delete messages on the pocket pc, then move the messages to a subfolder in outlook and synch. The messages will disappear from the activesync service inbox on the ppc.

wrong, the last time i checked even Junk Email was synced. This of-course is not by default and you gotta choose it in the options if you want it synced. You can just move the messages to another folder but they will be deleted from your inbox when activesync realizes they aren't in the inbox on your PPC also...

That's what syncing spose to do. 0X
