I know this is probably not a new question. I have little knowledge about 802.11b Wi-Fi.
Is it possible to connect to my desktop via my 4150 on 802.11b? Share Files and Active-Sync???

Absolutely... provided the desktop has 802.11b capability.
You'll need NetUse to map the network shared drives...

So you could say download a file easily from the desktop?

Actually, that's not really true. The built-in File Explorer allows you to access network drives without NetUse. Just map the drive, Copy the file on the desktop, then Paste the file on the Pocket PC.

How do you map the drive?

How do you map the drive?
In File Explorer, tap the rightmost button in the tool bar (the hand holding the disk). Type in the network share path in the dialog displayed.

but that doesn't allow you to "map" the drive, it only allows you to access the drive that you type into that field..........if you were to leave the file explorer application, you wouldn't be able to access the network drive......
if you want to "map" the drive, then you'll need a program like the NetRunner program since i can't seem to find Netuse anywhere to map the drive.......what ends up happening is the drive becomes a storage location and you can permanently access the drive........
if you want to "access" the shared drive, then you can use the file explorer to do that........

Okay, it sounds like it might be worth investing in a 802.11 wireless card for my PC. It also sounds kinda complicated

If you want to nitpick, you're technically correct, but the original question just asked about sharing files that were on the network and using ActiveSync. Mapping the drive is not required to do either.
Also, having used a program which "maps" a drive on my older iPAQ, it's not something you really want to do in general. If you map a drive with a large My Documents folder, some of the programs on your Pocket PC will end up searching those folders, which really slows them down.
I mapped my drives at one time, but unmapped them when I discovered the nasty side-effects. For example, opening Reader ended up taking minutes, if I remember correctly.
