I read in a post that the Rhinoskin case will scratch the finish of the IPAQ. Does this effect the 4155 or not?
I am in the market for a new case since the slip cover is useless and the case I received for free (with purchase of CompUSA's TAP warranty) is big enough to fit a small camera into!

I have a Rhinoskin . . about 4 or 5 months now I think.
The Ipaq is not scratched at all, the inside is covered with a neoprenish felty thingie that protects its finish to my knowledge.
However, I have noticed that my desk at work IS scratched by the Rhinoskin case. heheh  So keep it off of expensive wood antiques and such, and you should be fine.
If I were asking, I would ask for a second opinion as well.
Myself I like the case because it gives me a sense of protection for the device: the screen is safe from scratches, though if i drop it from a stairwell it will still likely break. It is perfect for my needs.
It's about 25 dollars I think, and in my view well worth the money.
For the best case, best protection to the finish of the Ipaq as well, I would go to a Vaja case for 75-125$us. Also well worth the money if you have it to blow.
Have fun!

Nope, I don't have $75 to blow. I can barely justify owning the Ipaq.
The aluminum and leather cases for the 415x are both $29.99 at CompUSA.com. I don't necessarily like shopping there, but they are the only ones who seem to carry a case that I can buy in the store.

There’s also a few other companies that make the aluminum cases and follow similar features as the Rhinoskin cases. I don’t have the RS case cause I couldn’t get that here in the great white north unless I paid huge amounts of shipping, but was able to find another one made by Innopocket carried by a local shop which was pretty much identical to RS case……the only noticeable difference between the two that I can tell is the RS engraving at the top and the cutout for the sync cable……other than that, pretty much the same……..i think that Proporta also makes one for the 4150 as well, but don’t remember….

All these look the same to me..... :?
Anyways, back onto your topic, my 4150 is fine, no scratches and does a good job in protecting the investment……..if you want hardcore protection, then I would suggest looking at the Titanium cases, cause I know my case has seen some dents and bends…….i think the ppl who scratched their cases kept taking their PDA in and out of the case to sync…….if you set up your PDA for wireless syncing, then you won’t have any problems with the case scratching or the foam getting worn down causing the case to scratch………
hope that helps!

Been using the Rhino Skin aluminum case for a couple of months and my 4150 looks brand new- no scratches whatsoever.
Brighthand's 41xx forum has a thread posted by a user who acutally had his 4150 scratched by the innopocket/RS case. Apparently this was a manufacturing problem related this particular case and not indicative of a problem with the case design.

:D Thanks. Look at the leather amd the aluminum Rhinoskin cases today at CompUSA. Both were $29.99 (plus tax). I went with the aluminum case-the leather was nice looking, but added too muvh width. With the aluminum case, I barely realize I'm carrying it!
