Here it is... my PPC setup for my car with my 4150. I modded one of those aluminum case things and stuck a piece of velcro on the back, and now it's an easily removable dash-mounted LCD screen, perfect for watching movies and playing Worms World Party while driving. :D

I have one of those obsessively expensive sound systems, too, which makes it even better. I hooked my PPC up to the AUX-in on my Alpine 9815 head unit, and holy crap. It makes it sounds like the most powerful device ever created. Playing some games on it (like Worms) with two huge 12" subs right behind you is quite an experience. 8O It's mainly set up to watch movies and everything, though. It's also good for tuning into online radio stations (like www.di.fm). Using my T610's internet, I can get a constant, uninterrupted 32kbps stream. Sure, it isn't very good quality, but it sure as heck beats regular FM radio.

All that's left for me to do now is get a nice little Bluetooth GPS receiver and Windows Mobile 2003 SE for landscape mode. That will be fun.

Here's a picture of what I have... Click it to enlarge. I made it small for the people viewing this post right now using their PPC. Which reminds me... I'm gonna go subscribe. :D

Mine's not all fancy (and I've replaced the iPAQ 3870 with a 5550), but it works.

That's rather badass. I'm currently using my 2215 for a gps screen, have a bluetooth receiver sittin on the dash. I also have a CDA9813, and just learned that I have an aux input as well. If I can only get my dialup on my T68i to work.

Thanks for the idea.

How'd I miss this thread? I have almost the exact same setup, except that I mounted my aluminum case on a Panavise mount (http://www.enfig.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-75138_499.html?L+scstore+ksqt2148ff720a72+1087591185).

I just have the Monsoon system in my GTI, hooked up via cassette adapter, but it sounds great! I listen to music from my SD card in Pocket Player just about every day, or I stream from di.fm via GPRS on my t610. 8)

Check out the Belkin BT GPS (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Product_Id=164017). It's a rebranded Fortuna Clip-On GPS. It's an excellent unit, and you get iGuidance software with it, which I like better than Mapopolis. If you use the coupon code "12345" at checkout, you'll save 50%, for a grand total of $200. REALLY good price.

I have GPS software, so I ordered the Haicom 303MMF Compact Flash GPS card and the Bluetooth slipper for about $190. I can easily use it in my iPAQ's NexiPak dual CF Card sleeve when walking or with Bluetooth while driving.

Cool! I've heard some good things about the slipper, but I've never actually seen one. Does it add a lot of bulk to the whole package, or is it relatively small? Have you had a chance to test the battery life?

I can't answer those questions yet. Notice that I said I ordered it; it's back-ordered until Friday or so. :-(
