Hi does anyone know of any programs that will control my media programs on computer from my pocket pc.
Here are a couple:

Zerama (http://www.zerama.net/products3.aspx)
Media CTRL (https://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=13475)

Doing a :google: on "Pocket PC" media remote control can probably find more.

"Pocket PC" media remote control+free download
would be a better way to go first :)

Yeah, thanks for that useful update almost 19 days after the question. If you hadn't noticed, Spud_18 seemed happy (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27852) with my answer.

Next time, try at least doing the search and posting a link to something (if there is anything to post). :twak:

Hey - we don't want to discourage people from trying to be helpful, even if it is late. ;) I've seen some responses to month-old threads where an answer to a question wasn't *available* until much later...

I agree, Kati. However, I didn't think the posting was helpful, that's all. I'm sure anybody with half a brain who wanted a free program would have thought to add "free download" or "freeware" to the search query after I had suggested Googling.

If a link had been posted to a freeware program, that would have been useful, and I wouldn't have said anything.

However, if you think the post I was commenting on was useful, I apologize.

thats OK nobody was hurt. pony was right.
i think there exits a program but i couldnt remember its name and i was lazy to search the program so i pointed that you can find that program if you search this way.
but there is a flipside of the coin. not all posts will be expected to be full of knowledge. yes i'll be happy to help anybody in this forum mostly techical discussions because i am an engineer but sometimes we just talk and chit chat.
dont expect people to be serious all the time

Don't worry, I don't. I know that all 3100 :!: posts of mine weren't serious (like the Robot Protest thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28245) :-D).

As a suggestion, though, if the thread seems to have died, don't revive it unless there's really something new. If you'd suggested doing a freeware search a day or two after the question, it probably wouldn't have bothered me. If you'd pointed out a new program, regardless of when, that also wouldn't have bothered me.

Anyway, the important thing is that the user found a program he liked, so, as far as I'm concerned, the issue is resolved. :-)

Okay instead of this couldn't you tell us how well this Zerama works? I just d/l and installed Rudeo got it kinda working, its okay but it the library on the ppc (2210) does not match the media player, its a bit of a mess, out of alphabetical order should I bother trying Zerama?

I decided that I really don't need Windows Media Player in my life and all that .NET nonsense - so its just as well WinAmp and RemoteAmp do the job wonderfully, it works well over Bluetooth and 802.11. Only thing missing is some buttons to control Visualizer on the host

The only thing missing in these remote controls are the ability to listen to the track on the ppc before you que it up, and then some means of mixing (a cross fader) to a set cue point, that would make home dj'ing a total JOL!
