Now comes news that Korean company Cyberbank will be releasing a CDMA Pocket PC Phone Edition with WiFi.

This device has a few other interesting aspects, like a sliding keypad, 160mb flash memory, camera with camcorder capability, removable battery and a MINI SD card slot. 8O As far as I know, this is the first device to use Mini SD cards. Here's the full spec list:

• Intel XScale PXA255 (Cotulla) 400MHz
• PocketPC 2003 Korean Edition
• 3.0" 18-bit (262,144 colours) 240x320 TFT-LCD Touchscreen
• CDMA2000 1x-EVDO / 1x RTT / IS95A/B @ 1800MHz PCS
• 160MB Flash Memory (128MB User Space, 32MB OS)
• 64MB RAM
• MiniSD Slot
• Integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b)
• IrDA (115.2kbps)
• USB (1.1)
• Integrated Camera: VGA (0.3MPixels)
• Integrated Camcorder: 176x144, 2.5 hours maximum
• Battery: Standard (1500mAh), Slim (1200mAh)
• Backup Battery: 43mAh (12 hours for full charge)
• Polyphony: Yamaha MA5 (64-poly)
• Dimensions (mm): 63.5 x 116 x 25 (Slim) 63.5 x 116 x 26 (Std.)
• Weight: 193g (Slim) 199g (Standard)

Apparently the keypad can handle letter input as well, which will make SMS and email much easier. Once again, this device is not available outside Korea. Hello...Sprint? Please? :deal:

It looks cool... But it's an inch thick?

It is nice looking and I like the sliding keypad for certain.
Kati has a good point about it being thick. It looks like it is one of those things we will have to test out in person and then make a decison about.
I wish it had a faster processor, that is one thing that would hold me back from purchasing it. I use Cingular and do not have any problems so since it is not gsm that is another draw back for me.
I am glad to see there is more designs coming into the market place:)

It looks like one PDA stacked on top of a PDA with a keyboard. 8O
I think the inch thickness may be a bit too prohibitive. I'd need to start carrying a manbag again.

Here is a review. Written in Korean but has lots of pictures.

Thanks for the pics. It does look cool, but man looking at those pics with it on its side looks like a size comparison between two PPCs!
I wonder why they used miniSD. Is it more accepted than SD in other countries?

Enough already of these "bulky" Pocket PC phones! Where are the 4150 sized devices?

People are again misjudging size by the pics.
This machine has a 3 inch screen so it is smaller then it appears in pics becouse we measure it compared to the machines we own ourselves wich generally have a 3.5 or 3.8 inch screen.
Its smaller then your mind is leading you to believe.

That doesn't change the numerical stats that say it's as thick as my laptop...

I think the winner for me is still the CU928. Much rather have a thin Bluetooth PDA with SDIO then a thick Wifi PDA with no expandability.

I was ready to be impressed... until I saw the pics from the Korean site. I don't have a problem with the size (much). But if you're going to have a fold-out keyboard, it should be a full qwerty keyboard, not just the phonepad keys. You could leave the phonepad keys to an onscreen display... and phonepad keys are too awkward to send lengthy text messages with.
I wouldn't have gone with Mini-SD, either. I've got too many storage versions floating around now, and I don't want to add to them.
It's okay that this hasn't been released in the US yet. Let's wait until someone maybe improves the design with (my specs) a full qwerty keyboard (or a slightly smaller attachable keyboard), a more standard storage slot like SDIO or CF, a USB connector, and a bluetooth wireless earbud so I can talk and use the device in my hands at the same time.
Ha! You're right! 8O I didn't even notice it was only a number pad.
That really does seem to be a waste, considering there are plenty of phones that are truly smaller.
Yep, the Daxian unit still wins foe me. 8)

A "mini" SD card? I'm more out of touch than I thought....didn't even know such a thing existed. And now that I do, I have to wonder.....why? The one thing I dislike about the 'normal' SD format is it's size.....I'm always afraid I'm gonna lose the things.

3 inch screen is to small in my opinion, I would rather have a 4inch screen to get a full view of calendering and spread sheets. What they took away from in length, it is more than made up for in thickness and in kati's words...

I would prefer a full keyboard myself, thinner, faster, etc.
I think it has the basis of a good idea but needing much work for even a consideration on my part.

You been reading PPCT? It's been posted. As far as losing them, I agree. Unless you get a snap closure case, there's the danger of losing it with the T-Mobile. I lost mine once and was going around the house nuts when my dog ran into another room and came back and spit it out at my feet.
Enough of getting my all hyped up about a new device and then it's not avavilable in the US. I'm waiting for something to come out that has everything I've been drooling for before my contract with T-Mobile runs out in September.

Great thing your dog didn't chew on it or swallow it.
Mini SD is not at all justified here as the device is large enough to accomodate a normal SD slot.
Besides, MiniSD and Sandisk's newest abomination: TransFlash (T-Flash) shouldn't even exist; if manufacturers were smart enough they wouldn't use it: people shy away from devices using non standard and redundant memory formats.

Actually, smaller devices tend to be thicker. Your phone, as a matter of fact, is .9" thick. ;)

Here's a snapshot of the POZ in action (site is in Korean though)

I agree that a QWERTY keypad would've been much better but its still looks like a great smartphone to me.
