The title says it all, what are the pros & Cons of Agenda Fusion and Pocket Informant? Which one is "better"?

thanks, I know this is a opinionated question but I son't want to buy one and I let the trial on Agenda Fusion run out before I used it!

thanks, Pat

Hi Pat,

Unfortunately, this question usually leads very quickly to a Ford vs. Chevy type debate.

The only answer really is that it's a matter of preference. Both are very strong apps. Each has a free trial available. I would suggest you check them both out (they can co-exist on your device at the same time) and see which one is to your liking.

Good Luck!

JR is right. Test drive them both and see what works for you. I've been very happy with PI personally.

Yes, really it all depends on which one you find better. Personally, I preferred the looks of Pocket Informant and bought that in the end. :)

I would definitely recommend taking advantage of the trials. Test out each program for a month and then make your decision.

Ford? Chevy? No, I choose Honda! :)

I agree with the above comments try both.. however just to balance things out I like Agenda Fusion more of the two... I always seem to go back no matter how many times I try PI...

I've used both for reasonable periods of time (over a month each) in order to really get to know the two products and ake an "informed" decision as to which I'd prefer.

IMHO, that's probably the only way you can answer this is to try both for a couple of weeks each and then decice what suits you.

Personally, I think both products are awesome. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that they are 90% the same. I've gone back to PI. I suspect that's because I used it first and got more comfortable with it. Although I think AF is great, it was a change from what I gotten used to in PI. That's not to say AF isn't as good. It was just different and I got used to doing things the PI way.

Both products are very well supported by their developers and are frequently improved on. Both now support Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition so you'll be ready when it's finally released.

Whichever you end up chossing you'll be happy. That I can be sure of.

You can also search for many posts regarding this topic. There has been plenty discussed in the past.

I think from what you've read here, you'll see the trend is "trial both programs and decide for yourself". The opinions swing both ways and you can be reading them forever.

Reality is though, you'll find that even if you use one program and not the other, it'll grow on you in the end ;) AF and PI essentially do the same things, have so many features and will do almost everything you want in a PIM and more. Both programs update on a regular basis and keep up with the other (heated debate as to which one is more innovative first). For what it's worth, I use PI5.

I downloaded both PI and AF but I did nto get around to using AF until the trial period ran out. I've tried everything to be able to relad the software for a trial period but can't. That's why I was asking if one was better than the other.

thanks, pat

Maybe trial PI only then and if you're happy with it, there's no reason to go to AF is there? ;)

You could try finding the registry key for AF, deleting it, then reinstalling to see if the trial version works again. It's worked for some shareware programs I've had in the past which I haven't had time to trial properly and have expired.

And how do I do that, on computer or PPC.

I'm not sure you'll have much success with a registry edit. I haven't dug in too deeply in these cases, but I can't imagine it will be very obvious.

The way I see it, you have two options:

1. You could hard reset your device. This would clear out whatever flag the application has that indicates you've begun a trial. The downside of course is that you'll have to reinstall all of your applications and backup/restore your data.

2. You could contact Developer One. If you explain your situation, they may send you a fix that will allow you to reset your trial.

Good Luck!

I didn't think the registry key would be that hard to find - I was suggesting deleting all AF keys :P just tap/hold on the folder (whatever it may be) and delete it.

If you're that desperate to trial out AF, make a sprite backup of your device and hard-reset. Then install AF; play with it for a day or so then restore your backup. You won't get AF working again after a restore but at least you'd have gotton to play with it.

I would second the suggestion to contact Developer One. We don't want to encourage "working around" the trial period. While your particular intentions may be honorable (ie, just trying to do an honest trial period), others may not be.

The hard reset option also seems reasonable, as this is hardly a way someone would try to get around paying for software.

But please, no further registry discussions.

Not a problem, I conacted Developer One last night and today they emailed me a code to use. I put it on and am using the trial now.

Sorry  Glad to see that you got the trial working again after contacting the developer! Problem solved :)
