New SMS notification sound?

Does anyone know how to create a new SMS notification sound? I just picked up an Audiovox PPC-5050 and I find the current sounds way too quiet, so I'd like to use a .wav or a midi file.

I've tried adding a .wav file and using the "Add Ring Tone" control panel, but that doesn't seem to work. The .wav file shows up under the Ringers in the the "Phone" control panel, but not under "Sounds and Notifications".

Does the .wav or .mid file have to be in a certain folder?

After playing with the device for a while, I think I have found the solution. If you drop a .wav file into the \Windows folder, it will show up under notifications!

I wonder why they don't document that anywhere... It seems odd that Ringtones can go almost anywhere, but notification sounds have to go in a specific location.

The notification features are pre-Phone Edition, and as such it sounds like it's a little more limited. :| Maybe they'll address it one day.
