Mapopolis Map Updates

Apparenttly , with little fanfare Mapopolis released updated maps in February. The 06 series......... Downloaded the Mecklenburg NC 06 demo and noticed a tremendous improvement over the old 05 map , neighborhood roads are now current to within last 4 months of construction and a LOT of businesses now shown on map....

Yes, they integrated Points of Interest into the maps. I have found the maps to be much better, so I upgraded. There was some discussion on theMapopolis Support Forum (http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/default.asp?CAT_ID=5) about some problems with the map and/or the program.

HEY! While verifying the link to their forum, looks like they just upgraded the program to 4.42. Will have to check it out.

Is the map usable without GPS unit?

Yes, you can use Mapopolis and its maps without a GPS. In fact, there are different map packs (w/ different prices), based on whether or not you want GPS support. You could also purchase the maps that include GPS support if you are considering purchasing a GPS in the future.

Of course, some of the navigation features will not work without a GPS.
