Hi,

I'm looking for an easy way to shutdown activesync (other than using task manager). Does anyone know of a command line way to do this? Or a decent (preferably free) program that simply starts or stops activesync from command line or a win32 program?

Thanks!

Oh, and as for starting Activesync, unfortunatly, I am well versed in that...

Try ReSync at http://www.cewindows.net/applications/resync.htm and KillSync at http://www.cewindows.net/applications/killsync.htm .

Interesting. I hadn't heard of those apps. I ended up writing a small VBScript that kills WCESMGR.exe and WCESCOMM.exe and then restarts ActiveSync.

I must admit that I've had to use it a lot less since going to Outlook 2003. (we need a knock-on-wood or fingers-crossed emoticon!)

Thanks. I need it so I can easily shut down activesync before using my I-mate to connect to the internet through GPRS.

they mention that active stink uses 8% of cpu time when idle.
isnt this a little bit over estimating?

Thanks. I need it so I can easily shut down activesync before using my I-mate to connect to the internet through GPRS.GPRS while in the cradle? If you mean on your device, Wisbar (http://www.pelmarinc.com/html/pocket_pc.htm) can do it. And if anyone knows how to make WisBar Advance (http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/wisbar/) do it I'd appreciate some pointers.

Probably! But the app is free so, it makes no difference to me!
