What is the name of that song that ran in the opening credits? That terribly slow and sad song that goes:
He shot me down, bang bang
I hit the ground, bang bang
That awful sound, bang bang
My bayyyybeeeee shot meeee doooowwwwnn
Is that original to the movie, or does the song predate the movie?

The name of the song is 'bang bang (my baby shot me down)'
written by Sonny Bono
performed by Nancy Sinatra.
The song itself predates the movie. I believe that Cher may have sung it before Sinatra, but I'm not sure.
o yeah, here's the lyrics:
Bang bang you shot me down
Bang bang I hit the ground
Bang bang that awful sound
Bang bang my baby shot me down
I was five and you were six
We rode on horses made of sticks I wore black you wore white
You would always win the fight
Bang bang you shot me down
Bang bang I hit the ground
Bang bang that awful sound
Bang bang my baby shot me down
Seasons came and changed the time I grew up I called you mine
You would always laugh and say
Remember when we used to play
Bang bang you shot me down
Bang bang I hit the ground
Bang bang that awful sound
Bang bang my baby shot me down
Music played and people sang
Just for me the church bells rang
After echoes from a gun
We both vowed that we'd be one
Now you're gone I don't know why
Sometimes I cry
You didn't say goodbye
You didn't take the time to lie
Bang bang you shot me down
Bang bang I hit the ground
Bang bang that awful sound
Bang bang my baby shot me down

Repeat numbers as often as necessary until you get the song...
Sorry, but since it's been answered, I feel that I can be useless now

ok, next question:
who would win in a fist fight: the Bruce Willis of "Die Hard" or Mel Gibson in "Lethal Weapon"?
I got 20 bones on Bruce
oh, and thanks chrisb for the answer.

Kill Bill was one strange movie. I liked the 'But first wiggle your big toe' part the out of the whole movie. The violence was really fake and the movie had a campy feel it. I think He was going for that though.

yeah, quentin films are always crazy in some way. Like in pulp fiction, when the kid in the back seat gets his head blown off. That was nuts. Kill Bill was called 'A live action anime' people who have seen Dragon Ball Z, Ghost in the shell, Serial experiments, or princess mononoke might understand how it was meant to be some how over the top. All of those animes, good or bad, contain some element that is pretty over the top. princess mononoke just had some crazy violence at times. Akira is a good example too. The spraying blood and insanity was entirely on purpose in Kill Bill.
I thought Kill Bill was the best comedy of the year  Did anybody else laugh uncontrollably at times?
