Hello folks,
Can any one recommend a good diary/journaling software for PPC? If possible, is there one where it can sync with a desktop version of it?
Thanks...

Have you looked into PocketInformant for this? I use PI but not the journaling function, so I can't tell you how good/bad that feature is, but if it's like the rest of PI, it should be good.

I use CLC Journal (Crown Logic - $39.95) to sync with my desktop Outlook Journal. It works flawlessly. I usually keep about 6 months of journaling info of my PPC.
For other journaling I use Journal Pro (DSR Tech - $21.99). This app has a desktop companion and syncs through the My Documents folder. The app is pretty simple but it gets the job done.

It escapes me. Does anyone use this journaling feature?

By default, Pocket Informant only creates a Journal entry when dialing.
I have not used it after changing the default.
To change, from the PI Menu button on the bottom, go to Options and select Journaling, then select which options you want to change.
I don't know if you can generically "journal" (i.e. add a timed note to the journal without executing any of the optioned items).
To ask that question, you may want to visit the forums at
www.pocketinformant.com or submit a support question. Alex (the developer) and his support staff has been very responsive to questions, even prior to purchase. You might consider reading through the FAQ at that site as well.

I just played around with creating a note. You can create a named note, insert the date from a menu item into the body, sort by creation date, assign categories to the note (one or more), link the note to appointments tasks contacts or files.
I don' know how it manages large numbers of notes, but this may be enough functionality to get you going.

To make a journal entry in PI, tap "New". There will be 6 tabs that will appear, tap the one on the furthest right. That's the journal tab. At the bottom will be "New Journal Entry". Tap that and that is where you would make the entry.
As somebody else mentioned, the folks on PI's boards are very helpful. It would be worth a visit before you make a decision.

Thanks.. Seems that PI's journal function doesn't quite suit my needs. I've checked around, but there doesn't seem to be too many good apps for this.
