Well, as if all the software DRM restrictions and problems weren't enough, Intel is including DRM technology on the new cell phone/PDA processors it recently announced. It sounds like software makers might be able to use this technology, and the only benefit I see, is if it means music vendors will allow you to copy to a PPC or SmartPhone with the DRM CPU. That would make it a heck of a lot easier to transfer legally purchased music, rather than burning a CD and re-encoding. It is also meant to stop people from messing with other people's wi-fi networks. It was posted on Slashdot, (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/04/13/1955209) but it references an AP story (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=528&e=2&u=/ap/20040412/ap_on_hi_te/intel_secure_chips) and an Intel Press Release.
