Can anyone recommend a security program (hopefully inexpensive or preferably free  ) that will allow me to password protect specific programs or items on my cf card and/or unit?
Hi,
I use http://www.softwinter.com/sentry_ce.html. The advantage is, you can mount and unmount your encrypted Data. You enter your Password only when you decrypt your Data.
An alternative is http://airscanner.com/downloads/encrypter/encrypter.html. Here you cann only encrypt or decrypt. After the use of the data, you have to encrypt again with new password.

I'll check those out, thanks :)
If you haven't tried Resco's File Explorer, it carries far more functionality than the built-in File Explorer, and included encryption of any file anywhere on the PPC or storage cards.

It is $24.95. I used a freeware encryption app once and the password to my encrypted files stopped working. Bad problem to have. Resco Explorer has been flawless.
I have no relationship to the developer or sellers of this app but I'd reinstall it first if I ever crash.
