View Full Version : Washable Screen Protector?

I just purchased a javoedge screen protector. On the website it says they are washable. But the directions do not say what you can wash them with. a detergent? or just plain water. I cleaned the screen with the cloth that came with it and then blew it off with compressed air. But the screen after putting the protector on still has a lint from the cleaning cloth. If I was to peal it off and wash it, will it loose its adhesive?

Thanks,
Lee

Hello Lee,

This is Alan from JAVOedge.com.

I've found out that using any regular scotch tape is another way to pull away dust and lint off the screen overlay before reapplying or even while the screen protector is attached on the device works effectively as well.

If you use the clean cloth to dry your screen protector after washing, I would not recommend using the cleaning cloth for that purpose, but use the cloth to wipe clean your device screen. Instead, I would use a paper towel to dry the screen protector. Then, use the scotch tape to remove dust if needed.

For washing, I would recommend washing under tap water. It is good enough to clean the screen protector.

If you have more questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thank you for your time. Have a great day!

Thanks,
Alan

Also, something that helps to avoid dust under the protector is to apply it in a steamy room, ie in the bathroom after a hot shower or in the kitchen with a few pots of water boiling.

This (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24998) was a really great tip on how to do the tape thing. It gets rid of all the dust and makes the protector as good as new! 8)
