close app with hardware button

I can't beleave that there is no program which I can map to a ppc button to close the active application! I have searched on handango and found several programs that close all applications at once but can't find one that just closes (not minimises) the current application and can be mapped to a button.
Has anyone had this problem?

There are software solutions but none that I know of that can do it with a hardware button. Isn't tapping on the X to close convenient enough? There are tons of apps that do that.

check out this. there is a little proggy called close that is just what you want.
and i assume that you know how to map one of your hardware buttons to any exe file.
if you dont know feel free to ask and ill point a program for that too

p.s: phm pocket pc plus is a good collection of programs. i suggess you play with it and i am sure you'll find something more

I have 'Alt-F4' programmed to my itask button (ipaq 22xx).

Free and works like a charm. good luck

Okay a few steps that you need to do it will sound cofusing reading it but have the Ipaq with you and it will all make sense.

First under the setting set whatever button you wish to iTask.

Then open the iTask.

Defaultly the first Icon to the left (the iTask symbol) should have iTask settings in there. (You have to hold doewn the icon for the menu to pop up.)

Go into the itask settings

Change the Menu Item (0:) by changing the "replace with" drop down to: (under Internal) "Close this task" or whatever you want it to do.

By holding down the hardware button it automatically does this program. If you tap the button iTask will open. If you hold it the program will open or do whatever you set for that shortcut.

I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you get it.
