Quick question

How do i fix this problem. I setup a bluetooth connection with my HQ iPaq 2210 PDA but when i try to make it connect, i get the 0x81000196 error code.

Bluetooth works for BT Actuvesync, OBEX File Transfers etc. Just not the net

Bluetooth between your 2210 and what? A phone? Your desktop? More details please.

Sorry. I'll make it a little more clear. Im trying to connect my HP iPaq 2210 to my desktop computer running Windows XP Professional over a bluetooth connection (grade 2 of 10 metres)

When I search for my computer it detects it and allows me to set up the service and created a shortcut in the Bluetooth Manager. But when i double click it to connect to the interent it gives me that 0x81000196 error.

I can wirelessly activesync, perform OBEX File Transfers and even establish a network connection. But this connection to the internet wont work

I found this translation of a German page on the issue (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://powerforen.de/forum/archive/index.php/t-153157&prev=/search%3Fq%3D0x81000196%2BBluetooth%2B2210%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8). The original page is here (http://powerforen.de/forum/archive/index.php/t-153157). Unfortunately, afaict, they didnt get much farther than you did.

You might try this site, I used it to set up my Belkin with XP Pro, & it worked the first try, maybe a bit of luck too.

Why not activate the pass-through connection in activesync, and browse through that....

You could try that. I will warn you that it's slower than going via a direct network connection. I don't know why but it is.
