I mean...the ipaq is a pretty sturdy unit...ironically this is linux based PPC but runs on windoze....

any thoughts?

You can buy an used iPaq of Ebay, install Linux on it and still have money to burn! :twisted:

ipaq 3100,3600,3700,3800,3900,5400, and 5550 are compatible with linux. (opie and fimliliar)

Ì love the look of the Zaurus and the couple of times I have had an all too brief play with one I really liked the GUI. That said I don't think it would provide an "out of box" experience as simple as that provided by a PPC - some features do require a trip to the "ol' Terminal window" to set up (such as Bluetooth).

The other killer for me is no transcriber/Calligrapher type HWR - got to have anywhere on the screen HWR....

It is a byproduct of all those Newton years
