Even worse, you know how to say it in Ferengi! (Or whatever their language is called. I'm not that into Trek)

Answer to the "meaning of life" I think.

It was the answer to the question that defined life, the universe and everything.

After they found the answer they had to find the question :D

I knew it was something like that. I watched it the first time it was shown on the BBC when I was like 10. Made no sense to me what so ever. I did not try and Google the answer, it was just what I remembered.

Still a geeky thing to remember or know about. :D

dlangton - you are my hero with the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition. I always loved #1, and saw the episode of DS9 today with #1 & #6.

Seriously, I knew I was a geek when someone looked me and said "Jon, you know about this <computer topic> right? you're a nerd - no offense". To which I replied "I prefer the term geek".

Of course, there is much more in the books, but I was introduced to it as a TV series, before the book was published, I believe.

I know it was a radio series first, then a TV series, then the books came out. Maybe the first book came out before or during the TV series. There was a game (http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocomjava.html) in there somewhere too.

Yep. Adams was a... well, I don't know the term for *radio*, but a screenwriter before an author, I believe.

He also wrote some Dr. Who episodes.

Now if he'd written a Blake's 7 episode, that would have been interesting...

You know you're a geek when -

You know the odd/even rule for Star Trek films.
You know that the HHGTTG was best in radio format.
Somebody asks you for a pen and you produce styli for 3 different PDAs, two laser pointers and a lens-cleaner, but no pen.
