The battery life on my iPAQ 3850 is just awful and I would like to replace the battery. I looked on HP's site and found 2 items, but I'm not sure they are what I want. I don't want an additional battery, I want a replacement.

Here are the 2 items I found.

- Slim 920 mAh removable battery for iPAQ 3600, 3700, 3800, 3900, 5400 and 5500 series (FA127A#AC3). $50

- Extended 1840 mAh removable battery for iPAQ 3600, 3700, 3800, 3900, 5400 and 5500 series (FA128A#AC3) $100

Is this what I want or is there a better place to look? BTW, will I need to take off the back of the iPAQ to replace the battery?

Thanks in advance for any advice / help.

Rich

The 3850 does not use a replaceable battery. The ones you found on HP's site are replacement batteries for the iPAQ sleeve packs. Apparently, HP's site isn't categorized correctly otherwise you would have found this out already. They don't make or sell replacement batteries that are internal. It's a warranty replacement I believe. Check out Pocket PC Techs (http://www.pocketpctechs.com/default.asp) for a battery replacement. If it isn't listed then you can email them for details.
