Howdy all,
I've been browisng through the forums and seen where people have had to d/l new drivers for the Socket cards.
Does anyone know if you still have to d/l the updated drivers after installing the ROM patch?
Thanks in advance for any info...

Hi there
I guess it depends on which Socket WiFi card you have. SD or CF? The old CF or the newer CF?
I'm running the older CF card and am using the Symbol dirvers. The cards are exactly the same and the Symbol dirver is a little more functional. In fact. Since loading that driver, I've not used Pocket Winc.
Once you do the ROM update you'll need to reload everything anyway as all data, including that in the iPAQ File Store is erased.

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for the info - I'm hoping to use PocketWinc to be able to pull emails and the like when travelling - that way I can leave the wife an email if a flight is delayed or the like.
I have the Socket SDIO Wifi on the way - I made sure that I put it in the topic line, since I've forgotten to do that before!
As I said, I recall people talking about having to get driver updates from Socket, and didn't know if the ROM update solved that or not.
I've already done the update and I'm just waiting on the card to get here now, but I want to be ready for it when it arrives, y'know?

Sorry - I should have paid more attention to the Topic
I'd run with the most current drivers. My recommendations is to download them and be ready.

Well, the SDIO card made it in! Downloaded the WM2003 drivers from Socket, and I'll be seeing if I can activesync through WiFi tonight!!
Y'all cross your fingers for me...

Well, I seem to have the problem everyone else does - I can't get the IPAQ to Active Sync via WiFi.
I downloaded the new drivers from Socket and installed them into the IPAQ. Through some trial and error, I am able to ping the wireless adapter in my laptop, but I can't get AS to work - I've set all the connection stuff to "work" and put the wireless adapter IP in as the main WINS address.
Any other suggestions? I've searched through the posts and can't find any new info that is helping...

I'm guessing that you have checked this but you didn't mention whether you had enabled Ethernet connections in Activesync. Just go to the Connection settings and it's a checkbox on that dialog (near the bottom)
Hope you get there. I Activesync with my WiFi almost every day (I also use the cradles, a charge and sync cable and Bluetooth depending on where I am)

Anthony,
Yes, I did - thanks for the reminder!
Out of desperation, I downloaded Pocket Hosts and entered the IP addy of the wireless interface on the laptop, and it started working :yay:
Weird thing is, it only connected at 2 mb and I was within, oh, 5 feet of the laptop. I'm still not sure just WHY it only hooked up at 2 mb, but I'm happy that it worked at all!
