<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.xengames.com/tinews.html' target='_blank'>http://www.xengames.com/tinews.html</a><br /><br /></div>Xen Games have announced details of a new game they are working on, called Tactical Incursion. "As co-ordinator of the recently established Global Counter-Terrorism Initiative your task is preventing terrorist acts, obtaining intelligence and ultimately eliminating the terrorist threat once and for all. Take control of your squad of highly trained operatives in dangerous missions across the globe. Lead missions to destroy illegal arms caches, rescue hostages and capture high level targets in order to ascertain who or what is behind the recent spate of atrocities." <br /><br /> <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/tiscreen2.jpg" /><br /><br />Remember the turn based gameplay of X-com or Fallout Tactics? Well, that’s exactly the kind of thing you will get here (apart from the aliens of course 0X ). The features include: "In-depth tactical gameplay with single and multiplayer support, Interactive environment and wide variety of missions, Challenging and realistic AI computer opponent, Advanced 3d graphics and lighting with fire, smoke, and more."<br /><br />The developers say that they are concentrating on the major things that are sometimes lacking, such as strong AI and multiplayer support. The game will be fully 3d rendered with lighting and other effects. As it’s rendered, it will be able to cope with QVGA and VGA resolution screens and the current builds are apparently well on current generation Pocket PCs.<br /><br />There’s no release date yet, but it certainly looks worth waiting for. I just love turn based games.

Then you gotta play Jagged Alliance 2 (www.jaggedalliance2.com). The series has a cult following and I gotta say I'm hooked. :)

You might be able to still find it in some bargain bins.

I've heard very good things about this game. The trouble as ever, is having the time... :|

Yeah, I wouldn't hold your breath over this new game given their track record with Gang Warfare :?. I sincerely hope they get GW out before starting something new - they're now saying Q2 this year, so lets hope we see it before the 12 month anniversary of the announcement.

Looks like a great idea though. I've never been much into PPC Gaming, but maybe I should start...

Try searching for Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire (http://216.46.10.244/games/GameInfo.asp?sLanguageCode=EN&iGameID=110&sSection=Overview) instead. This is a user created mod that's being packaged and sold but it also contains the full verson of JA2.

You do not get the JA2: Unfinished Business Expansion with this set though. JA2: Gold is that pack that includes JA2 and Unfinished Business. Or you can try to find UB on it's own.

This series has gone through a lot of distributers...

Oh, once you do pick up JA2, stop by The Bear's Pit (http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/) to download some great user made mods. Urban Chaos is the newest and weighs in at ~200MBs. Since the JA2 source code was released with the Wildfire pack, expect great things to come from modders...
