Since upgrading to Windows Mobile 2003, there are a few icons in the system tray (bottom right of Today screen) that I would like to remove.

The ones in question are: Internet Explorer (I can get to it from the Start menu); the "T" icon for launching apps (I can launch them from the Start menu); and the SIM phone book icon (don't use it).

How do I go about this?

Thanks!

Check to see if you have something running in startup that adds those icons to the sys tray.

No go. In this version, the startup links are somewhat obfuscated. Refering to my Startup folder (and I have quite a few items there), I thought it had to be one of the following:

aFlashman.lnk
cFlashman.lnk
poutlook.lnk

After moving these out of the StartUp folder and resetting the device, the icons still appear.

Also, I've looked in the registry for any "run" keys (like on desktop Windows), but that kind of key doesn't exist.
