I have set up my 1940 to connect to my T610 via GPRS. Seems OK, and I can browse web pages with Pocket IE.

However, when I try and check email, I am getting various messages such as :

'Unable to connect. Ensure that your modems are present and inserted correctly, and that no network card is present'.

I can switch back to Pocket IE, and the connection is there and running OK. Any clues as to what I have missed?

Make sure your Inbox setup uses the right connection type (The Internet or Work). Try switching it and see if that helps.

email wont work because email uses a different port, and gprs only allows port 80, the web browsing port

I think you'd probably hear a lot (a real lot) of griping from us GPRS users if that was the case.

That's not true for me. I use their gprs via ir to my ipaq 1945 and am able to get mail no problem albeit slow.

My t39+1945+gprs: web and email. Try nPOPw. Great little email app.
