Over the past few days my 3950 seems to have lost alot of its battery life. After 3 hours or so of normal usage it will turn off & not come back on without charging. The odd thing is, it does it when the battery monitor says 40% or so still, i'm lucky if i have one battery warning.
I know that 18 months of hard use will have drained the life of the battery, but it has detiriorated over the past 3 days, and surely the monitor shouldn't say 40% when it dies? Hard resets and full charges don't fix it.
Has anyone else experienced similar and do you think that i have the right to RMA it on extended warranty?

How old is the unit? It sounds as tho the battery has just given out on you; or is feelin' as tho it might.

You have a few options. PPC Techs makes a battery replacement/ upgrade for $99.00 US

You could also try to get HP to fix it for you by replacing the battery; or if you do have extended warranty, you could try the RMA.

The 3900 was a GREAT unit. I loved my 3955.

Let us know what you decide to do...
