View Full Version : VGA Touchscreen?

Just wondering for those of you with the VGA capable PDA, does the touchscreen also have VGA resolution, i.e. if I made a program with two buttons side by side, each 1px in size - would you be able to use each button?
Ignore the practical side of this, because yes I know each pixel is like 0.15mm wide and it would be basically impossible to actually get that type of precision with the stylus - however for things like taking notes, on my current iPaq I often find it very hard to read my own notes - as I have rather small handwriting, but at VGA resolution I suspect it wouldn't be too different to writing on paper.

I can't answer from any level of techincal expertise, but I have found my e805 to be EXTREMELY sensitive to exact stylus tap locations in VGA mode......if anyone can think of a way to test it, I'd be happy to give a try.

Well I think if the device appears to be more sensitive in VGA mode that is a good indicator that the device does in fact have a VGA touch screen as well.

Can someone take a screenshot of a written note in VGA mode? I'd also like to know how good the writing looks.

I don't have any software that takes PPC screen shots....I'll see if I can download a trial of something and take a shot....if I had to describe it, I would liken it to writing with a Fine or Very Fine pen.....more to follow if I can get software to show you.
Not to get OT, but can anyone recommend software for the screenshot?
Thanks!

You could use the demo of the Resco Utility Pack, that has a screen capture app in it.

And this is a note in VGA mode on the e805. NOTE: I tried to resize the screen image because the image was captured in 640x480, but it didn't work. If you look at this URL (http://mysite.verizon.net/vze4xs28/personal.htm) you will see the screens in roughly the same size.

Hope this helps a little....sorry my handwriting isn't better! 8)

Wow, that is great quality. That looks good enough to draw diagrams and graphs in class with, now I want a VGA device even more!

I make a lot of notes and graphs on my e805 and PhatPad does a great job:

But you really have to see a shot of a good background to appreciate VGA:

I used PocketController to take these.
